This photo shows a typical Marathon Race start.   Given the stability of these kayaks, it is an achievement staying upright in the pack at the start.  This photo was taken at the Hasler finals held in Newark on Trent
This photo was taken on a cold February morning as dawn broke,   The eagle eyed amongst you will realise the kayaker is paddling backwards !   It was so cold on this occasion that ice formed on our Buoyancy aids !
Some of the most evocative scenery is to be seen on the west coast of Scotland.   Here, at Elgol in Skye the paddle to Camasunery bay is stunning on a good day such as this
Here we have a brave soul playing in the stopper at the bottom fall at Grandtully in Perthshire, a common haunt of the Cumbernauld and Kilsyth Kayak Club for its more adventurous paddlers.
Willie and I (Douglas) paddled round Lismore on 20/05/2000 and camped on the mainland on the way back. This photo was taken at about 07:30am.
A buoy that was found in the islands coming back from Luss on Loch Lomond.
Tom, (who cannot be named for no particular reason) on a paddle from Balmaha to Luss at New Year Window wipers on his glasses and the headgear ensures a constant alcohol intake !.
Willie and Douglas en route from Balmaha to Luss on 19/05/2000. A foggy start soon burnt off to leave the loch like glass.
A day for the juniors at the barbeque site on Inchcailloch Island on loch Lomond. Taken on 15/08/1999 as was the photo below.
Club outings to Inchcailloch prove to be popular due to the shelter offered by the bay on the island and the ferry for mum's and dad's who are not paddlers. The site can cater for 60 persons at a time. A lease form can be had from Scottish Natural heritage at their Stirling branch.
Our pool at St Maurice's High School is well proportioned as a kayak training pool. We meet on Wednesdays from 6:00 till 9:00pm
A waterline view of the shallow end of the pool.
Iain is one of our senior paddlers who shines (positively glistens) with his river skills as seen here. Since this unfortunate incident, he has sharpened his skills considerably such that this nowadays happens very infrequently.
This Club offers opportunities to paddle all the basic kayaking disciplines and as such is ideal for beginners to get tasters before deciding what particular discipline suits them.
